Who We Are...
Our MissioN
The mission of Eastbourne and District Veterans CIC is to bring the Veteran Community, and their families, in Eastbourne and the surrounding areas together, including Regimental Associations, Military Charities, and other relevant agencies to recreate military life camaraderie.
Organising events, activities, community projects and support for Veterans, helping them with the challenges of civilian life and providing ongoing assistance to ensure their health, well-being and smooth their existence within the civilian community.
We get involved with projects to give back to the civilian community, that we continually ask to support and understand us.
Generally, to support each other in times of need.
What is a CIC?
A Community Interest Company (CIC) is a type of company introduced by the United Kingdom Government in 2005 under the Companies (Audit, Investigations and Community Enterprise) Act 2004, designed for social enterprises that want to use their profits and assets for the public good.
A community interest company is a business with primarily social objectives whose surpluses are principally reinvested for that purpose in the business or in the community, rather than being driven by the need to maixmise profit for shareholders and owners.
CIC’s tackle a wide range of social and environmental issues and operate in all parts of the economy. By using business solutions to achieve public good, it is beleived that CIC’s have a distinct and valuable role to play in helping create a strong, sustainable and socially inclusive economy.
